Maureen Brown

Maureen Brown, an artist from Squamish, British Columbia, enjoys painting in a naturalistic style, exploring the relationships of colour and light in her subjects. Trained in the Twickenham School of Art, London, England, she worked as a commercial artist before emigration to Canada with her family.

The beautiful surroundings of the Sea to Sky area influenced and inspired Maureen to continue developing her artistic abilities. She has worked in many media, but prefers the textures of oil paint, especially the way in which the colours blend and combine. Her work reflects her interest and enthusiasm for her grandchildren, her garden and the environment.

Maureen had exhibited in many group and solo shows in Squamish, Whistler and West Vancouver. Her paintings are often displayed in galleries and businesses in the Sea to Sky area.
